Fashion Revolution UAE has announced the official dates and schedule for its 2026 edition, set to take place from April 22 to 28. The week-long series of events will blend online discussions with in-person gatherings across the UAE, focusing on the intersection of style, climate, and community. Fashion Revolution UAE joins a growing list of initiatives redefining local engagement.
The agenda features a mix of panels, film screenings, workshops, and community meetups. Fashion Revolution Week opens with an online Earth Day panel on April 22, titled “Connected by Crisis: Understanding Our Place in a Changing Planet.” This discussion will bring together voices from fashion, food, energy, and water sectors to examine how these industries intersect.
A highlight of the schedule is the Dress to Fly fashion design competition. This competition challenges participants to reimagine airline uniforms for the GCC through a more sustainable lens. Organizers note the event adopts digital creativity and AI-supported ideation while keeping human creativity and sustainability at its core. The grand finale for this competition will take place online as the closing event of the week on April 28.
On April 23, the group will host “Mend in Public” at Thrift for Good Shop and Sustainability Hub. This in-person session combines mending workshops with a film screening and a live Q&A, marking the launch of a new “Crafters Corner.” A few days later, on April 25, Fashion Revolution Week Big Day! will take over Blumi Cafe. This community day includes a social breakfast, workshops, a clothing swap, and a banner-making session.
Additional events include an April 24 online panel on the power of community to drive change, an April 26 session on social media’s impact on consumer behavior, and an April 27 styling workshop focused on preloved fashion at the same Al Quoz location.
The 2026 programme is designed to support dialogue between industry professionals and the general public. Organizers aim to create space for participation and visibility across the UAE’s conscious fashion community. Media, students, educators, brands, and families are encouraged to attend. The organization says the goal is to make the movement for a cleaner, safer, and fairer industry accessible and action-oriented.
While the schedule is packed with activities, the broader context of the fashion industry remains a central theme. The environmental pressures facing the region add weight to these discussions. As production models increasingly rely on resources like water and energy, local initiatives offer a way to test new behaviors before they scale. By focusing on repair, reuse, and conscious consumption, the week provides a testing ground for ideas that could eventually influence global standards.
