Fashion brands now confront mounting challenges in sourcing and production, as tariffs, shifting consumer preferences, and sustainability requirements push manufacturers to adjust operations at unprecedented speeds. The newly formed Pratibha Hallotex platform—created by merging Pratibha Syntex in India with Hallotex in Spain and Morocco—seeks to address these pressures by delivering geographic flexibility, rapid production turnaround, and embedded sustainability measures.
Three production hubs form a unified network
The collaboration unites three specialized manufacturing bases to serve diverse market demands. Morocco’s facilities, positioned near European sourcing centers, specialize in knitting, dyeing, and robotic cutting, while Spain’s Barcelona design hub employs over 30 product developers dedicated to trend forecasting and material innovation. India contributes large-scale textile production, from fiber spinning to garment assembly, through Pratibha Syntex’s established operations, ensuring full vertical integration.
This decentralized structure allows brands to select production locations based on order volume, delivery urgency, or customer proximity. European orders requiring fast fulfillment can route through Morocco’s plants, whereas large-scale global production leverages India’s integrated supply chain. The model also supports broad product diversification, encompassing premium knitwear, activewear, and intimate apparel.
By avoiding over-reliance on a single region, brands mitigate risks tied to tariff fluctuations or sudden demand changes. The Barcelona-based design team tailors trends to regional preferences, minimizing waste from misaligned inventory. The companies project an annual output of 80 million garments across India and Morocco by 2025, though adaptability remains the primary focus. Pratibha Syntex’s recent expansion in India, including a new seamless manufacturing plant in Ujjain, enhances capacity while maintaining control over dyeing and fabric development.
A production system designed for adaptability
Founded in 1996, Pratibha Syntex operates as a vertically integrated textile manufacturer, covering everything from raw materials to finished garments. This self-sufficiency reduces dependence on external suppliers, a critical advantage during supply chain disruptions. The company’s Vasudha program collaborates with over 30,000 farming families to ensure traceability from cotton cultivation to garment production, a feature increasingly sought by brands emphasizing ethical sourcing.
The integration extends to material innovation. Pratibha Syntex now produces recycled fibers, post-consumer textile waste, and performance blends, aligning with the industry’s push toward circular economy principles. Hallotex contributes through Reciclados, a Morocco-based recycling facility capable of processing up to 1 million garments annually. This closed-loop approach tackles end-of-life waste, a growing priority for fashion buyers.
Sustainability is no longer an optional add-on but a central component of the platform’s business model. Pratibha’s regenerative agriculture initiatives and Hallotex’s recycling operations enable brands to meet environmental targets without sacrificing production speed or cost efficiency. The combination of manufacturing control and material innovation allows Pratibha Hallotex to serve specialized markets, such as seamless activewear or intimate apparel, while retaining the agility to shift production in response to changing trends or regulations.
The newly opened Ujjain facility, for instance, is optimized for high-volume lifestyle and activewear production, with nearly 80% of its workforce consisting of women. The site includes on-site residential accommodations to support employees.
Flexibility replaces scale as the industry priority
The fashion sector’s shift toward operational agility mirrors broader changes in global trade and consumer behavior. Brands are increasingly reluctant to commit to long-term contracts with single suppliers, particularly given geopolitical risks like tariff volatility or regional conflicts that can destabilize supply chains overnight. Pratibha Hallotex’s approach offers a modular solution: customers access specific capabilities as needed, whether leveraging Morocco’s proximity for European orders or India’s scale for global distribution.
